Runes

Description

Runes are designed to enhance legendary equipment. By using them, you will receive additional military and economic bonuses.

To create a rune, collect the required number of rune shards of the same kind. You can obtain these by attacking Apostates and yielding resources in their Crypts. To find out which runes you have, go to the Storeroom tab of the Rune Workshop.

Rune characteristics

Runes differ in number of bonuses and type. The higher the rune type, the more valuable its bonus. One rune can give a maximum of three different bonuses.

Types of rune:

  • Simple
  • Usual
  • Unusual
  • Rare
  • Epic
  • Legendary

There are also Imperial runes, which grant a unique combination of bonuses for the selected troop type. Read more about them in the "Imperial runes" subsection.

Rune creation and fusion

Runes are created in the Shards tab of the Rune Workshop. For this you need to obtain the required number of rune shards.

Runes of the same type can be fused, except for legendary ones. As a result, you will receive a rune of a higher type with enhanced bonuses.

There are two ways to fuse runes: for Gold, instantly, or for Silver (which takes time). When your VIP status reaches level 18, the ability to fuse simple runes instantly will become available. Level up your VIP status in order to unlock instant fusion of usual, unusual, rare, and epic runes.

To fuse runes, go to the Fusion tab of the Rune Workshop. There are four slots for runes of the same type that you have, and a slot for the result of their fusion.

If you have eight or more runes of the same type, you can perform a bulk fusion. When you tap the "Fuse" button, an additional window will open in which you can fuse an unlimited number of runes.

For example, if you have 12 Adviser runes of usual type, then one bulk fusion will produce 3 Adviser runes of unusual type.

In addition, you can change the number of runes for bulk fusion using the special slider at the bottom of the window.

All the runes that you have can be found in the Storeroom tab. You can apply filters to view the rune bonuses.

Transform any rune into Runic Dust in order to create and upgrade Imperial runes.

You can transform runes into Dust and use it to create Imperial runes once you've upgraded the Rune Workshop to level 35.

To transform runes, open the Storeroom tab in the Rune Workshop and select any unwanted rune. In the window that opens, go to the Transformation tab, select how many runes you want to transform, and hit the "Transform" button.

If you have multiple Imperial runes, you can transform them all at once. To do so, open the Storeroom tab, hit the "Transform Imperial runes" button, and select the unwanted runes. Then hit the "Transform" button.

You cannot simply transform Imperial runes that you've added to your Favorites. You need to remove them from your Favorites first.

Imperial Runes

These are runes that grant a unique combination of bonuses for the selected troop type. To create Imperial runes, upgrade your Rune Workshop to level 35. All the Imperial runes that you currently have are displayed in the Storeroom tab.

Imperial rune types:

  • Spearman runes
  • Ranged runes
  • Cavalry runes
  • Knight runes
  • Scout runes
  • Siege runes

To create an Imperial rune, go to the Creating tab in the Rune Workshop. Then select the troop type for which you want to create a rune – this affects the rune's bonuses.

When you create a rune, it receives one random bonus from the list. The value of the bonus is also selected at random from the given range. To view all the possible bonuses and the ranges of their values, select the icon of the required troop type and then select "List of bonuses."

Imperial runes are created using Runic Dust and Gold. To obtain Runic Dust, transform runes in the Storeroom tab.

Imperial runes can be upgraded up to level 3. Every upgrade grants a rune one new random bonus of a random value from the given range. To upgrade Imperial runes, you also need Runic Dust and Gold.

The processes of creating and upgrading Imperial runes are both instant. If you've started a rune fusion process, you will be temporarily unable to work with Imperial runes.

You can inlay a piece of equipment with two Imperial runes of the same troop type at once. Two runes can be inlaid into a legendary piece of equipment of upgrade level 15.

Add Imperial runes to your Favorites – that way, the runes will always be displayed at the top of the list in the Storeroom tab.

Removing and destroying runes

To free up the space for a new rune in enhanced equipment, you can:

  • Destroy the rune. This empties the slot but you cannot reuse the rune you have destroyed.
  • Apply the Rune Extractor item. This allows you to remove a rune and reuse it.

Please note that the type of the Rune Extractor item should be at least as high as that of the rune that you wish to remove. You can apply the Rune Extractor only once. The item can be purchased in the Bonuses tab of the Item Store.

To extract Imperial runes from your equipment, use the legendary Rune Extractor.

Enhancing equipment with runes

Only equipment of legendary type can be enhanced with a rune. To do so, go to the Enhancing tab of the Gemmery.

Runes can be inlaid into the fourth slot of all legendary equipment and into the sixth slot of legendary equipment of upgrade level 15. The enhancement process happens instantly and without expending any resources. You can enhance a piece of equipment with two identical runes if you want.
